Yesterday fashion photographer Corinne Day (1965) passed away after a long battle against cancer. Her anti glamour photography conquered the world in the early nineties and Corinne Day almost single-handedly launched the career of Kate Moss. The epic shoot The 3rd summer of love, styled by Melanie Ward and featuring a sixteen year old Moss, was published in The Face in July 1990 and can be regarded as the beginning of a new era in fashion photography.

If you happen to be in Århus, Denmark go check out the exhibition I Love You at the ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum. About 40 artists give their perspective on love, romance, sex and everything related. The exhibition features work of Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Louise Bourgeois, Pablo Picasso, Auguste Rodin, Nan Goldin, Jesper Just, Pipilotti Rist, Tracy Emin, Nobuyoshi Araki and Monica Bonvicini among others.

Black Swan is Darren Aronofsky’s newest movie, about a prima ballerina and her rival. The exquisite ballet costumes were designed by Rodarte. The movie will premiere at the Venice film festival and will be in theatres in december.

My favorite song of the moment is Summer Camp’s Round the Moon. The video is quite nice as well, showing images from the Swedish movie A Swedish Love Story (1970). Round the Moon can be found on the band’s forthcoming Young EP, which will be out next month on Moshi Moshi.

If you happen to be in New York City between now and the 19th of September, I highly recommend visiting Rivane Neuenschwander’s A Day Like Any Other exhibition at the New Museum. Covering a decade of her work, the exhibition shows how Neuenschwander (Brazil, 1967) merges photography, film, painting, sculpture, installation and collaborative actions. Neuenschwander often asks visitors to participate in her exhibitions. For the installation First Love, a police sketch artist will sit with visitors and draw portraits of their first love as they describe them to him. All the drawings will be shown on the walls of the museum for the duration of A Day Like Any Other. read more…

Harmony Korine, enfant terrible of the American cinema en mastermind behind films as Kids, Gummo and Julien Donkey-Boy made a short film in collaboration with the New York fashion label Proenza Schouler, to showcase their Fall/Winter 2010 collection. The film, titled Act Da Fool, will be debuted on the Proenza Schouler website in September.
