Rotterdam’s best club night is returning in full force
This year’s festival season has been doing the most — draining and exhilarating all at once. And for those looking for a perfect closer, POING FESTIVAL is here to deliver. Since the closure of their Rotterdam club in February 2024, POING’s community have only been gathering momentum — and on August 30th, they’re letting it all erupt at BRUTUS: a concrete dreamland turned dancefloor sanctuary.
At its core, POING FESTIVAL is a love letter to the scene they’ve helped shape — and the people in it. The lineup is a family affair: a constellation of artists who’ve made the POING universe what it is. Expect homegrown favourites and Glamcult staples like Baby Ganoush, Dirtydms, Diora, Slimfit, and Sukubratz — artists you’ve probably shared a smoke, a cry, or a dancefloor epiphany with. And of course, add to that international heavyweights such as Clementaum from Brazil or DJ MARIA from Japan. Beyond the music, performances by Rex Collins and Simomo Bouj promise to celebrate the body in motion, the politics of presence, and the art of showing up exactly as you are. Wrapped in hallucinatory light installations, the all-day all-night party is the sensory storm we need to properly say goodbye to summer.
From global bass to Latinx core and hyper ambient, from sweaty warehouse halls to sculptural gardens, POING FESTIVAL is a full-body, full-soul experience. And importantly, this is a festival that lives up to their values of community, inclusivity, and the courage to stand up when it counts — as demonstrated by their call to withdraw from Milkshake Festival in solidarity with Palestine. Building their world on their own terms, it’s a space where creative expression runs wild and nothing has to be watered down. It’s messy, beautiful, political, and personal.
