DGTL teams up with GUESS JEANS

THE AIR BETWEEN US

Amsterdam Dance Event is upon us! The week where music takes over the city, sleep becomes optional, and Amsterdam Noord becomes a second home. Naturally, DGTL is on our radar (SPFDJ b2b VICTORIA, MCR-T, and Mila Black, anyone?)

This year, the festival joins forces with GUESS JEANS for The Air Between Us: a large-scale installation floating above NDSM’s industrial floor, turning both parties’ sustainable lenses into something you can reflect upon amidst the chaos.

Inside the warehouse, designer Grietje Schepers presents a light, transparent structure that moves, shimmers, and breathes. Suspended in midair, it behaves like a living organism, inviting you to look up (for once) and slow down. The piece draws inspiration from GUESS JEANS’ new GUESS AIRWASH™ denim tech, a production method with a lighter ecological footprint, and DGTL’s ongoing push to make festivals circular, conscious, and community-driven.

Both DGTL and GUESS JEANS operate in industries built on constant production and consumption, yet this collaboration leans into reflection instead of noise: a much-needed pause button. Beneath the installation, you’ll find repurposed furniture wrapped in second-hand denim, a fitting backdrop to rethink the air, the fabric, and the space between us (and don’t worry, you can still dance after)

“For me, sustainability is also about care,” says Grietje Schepers. “Care for materials, for space, for each other. The air between us seems empty, yet it carries everything that connects us. The Air Between Us makes that visible.”

Want in? Before The Air Between Us opens, you can catch a preview at the GUESS JEANS store (Kalverstraat 157, Amsterdam). From October 16–21, you’ll have the chance to win tickets to DGTL’s ADE shows. DJs will be taking over the store on October 19 & 20 from 15:00–18:00 — so yes, even shopping gets an ADE twist.
