Glenn Martens x H&M

Bringing crinkled-up camp to your everyday

Glenn Martens x H&M drops later this month, and the first glimpse of the collection is pure fantasy: sculpting, twisting, and printing, draping, all on the table. In the collection, Martens reimagines our fav H&M designs, bringing his signature playfully camp flair to each piece. The king of ironically beautiful fashion, it is no surprise that Diesel’s creative director took it to the clouds. Denim is manipulated, knits are deconstructed, garments are printed on top and over each other.

“I see the collection as a big family of garments,” Martens explains. “Each piece has multiple personalities—formal, informal, loud, quiet, rule-breaking, classic—and can be styled in countless ways. Like people, they change, grow, and feel different every day.”

Inspired by a twinge of British heritage, trench coats, tweeds, and wools get a Glenn Martens twist as pieces are made maleeabel and everchanging through wire, foils, and bendable elements.  Who better to front the campaign than English roses Joanna Lumley & Richard E Grant, serving us absurdist regality from telephone booth to the royal palace.
