Courtesy reworks her ambient past on her new single “ You’re Not Alone”

If it ain’t broke, take it to the club

Courtesy lovingly smashes her own ambient past into the present. On her newly released Dance Review version of You’re Not Alone, the Berlin-based Danish artist takes her own 2023 ambient cover of the ’90s UK dance classic and lovingly smashes it into club-ready euphoria. Featuring cph+ goddess, Erika de Casier’s hushed, haloed vocals, the track feels less like a cover and more like a spell being gently recast. Shimmering with emotional immediacy, You’re Not Alone enters as intimate and quietly devastating in the way only great dance music can be.

Co-produced with rush2theUnknown, this rework marks the first instalment of Dance Review Vol. 1, a new series by Courtesy dedicated to reimagining her experimental catalogue as party girl ready.

Can’t get enough? Released via Against Interpretation Club, the track arrives with a CD containing the ambient and dance remixes, plus a release celebration at OHM/Tresor Berlin on January 30th to bring your yearning out and about.
