Backstage at Ziggy Chen’s AW26 DISSPARATION

Buzzing about in playful eyewear

Whether your buggy specs are prescription or purely a styling choice (relax – your secret is safe with us), Ziggy Chen’s AW26 DISSPARATION is all about that delicious in-between state of keeping it quietly intentional. As models flew and buzzed about in the fashion week rush, we went backstage before everything took flight. For Chen, power is delivered in the details as heads enter playfully funky hats, epaulettes mosey their way onto trousers, and insect-esque spectacles stand slightly slipping down the nose.

On the runway, oversized silhouettes slouch and sway in patinaed neutrals of browns, greys, blues, and beiges. Coats hang heavy but relaxed, trousers puddle and cascade down to oxfords and boots just right. It’s casual, thoughtful dressing, where linings peek out and nothing feels fully done up (in a hot, intentional way).

Under Chen’s watchful eye, sophistication dissipates as garments champion visible mending, natural fibres, irregular yarns, and bouclé that proudly show their imperfections. The accessories follow the same logic: metal detailings, braided leather, and relaxingly tied cashmere scarves. With DISSPARATION, Shanghai’s Ziggy Chen gives a poetic collection for those of us who enjoy being quietly observant and always on the lookout.
