Glamcult x Dr. Martens link up to launch #144 THE NOISE ISSUE and the Aurix collection
It’s the last week of June. Fashion week has descended on Paris, the pavements are radiating heat, and boots have been temporarily retired in favour of something that allows the foot to participate in summer. A dainty heel, perhaps. A perfectly worn-in sandal. Or, ideally, Dr. Martens’ new Aurix Mule. The evening gathered together three things that continue to survive every prediction of their demise: print magazines, good shoes, and loud music.
Somewhere in the 3rd arrondissement, Glamcult and Dr. Martens came together to launch Glamcult #144: THE NOISE ISSUE alongside the debut of the Aurix Mule. Double the heat, essentially. Or triple, if you count global warming as a paid actor.
Starting a summer evening with a DJ set from Glamcult favourite Crystal Murray tends to set expectations dangerously high. In between Soif’s pet nats, thirst-quenching dry whites, glasses are poured, and people smile. Then came Magi Merlin. The magnetic cover star of THE NOISE ISSUE took over the room with a live performance that was a demonstration of the issue’s central thesis. Noise, after all, is not necessarily about volume. Following her appearance on Glamcult TV and her cover story in #144, seeing her command the room in real time felt like the natural next chapter.
Of course, the night continues unfolding around fashionable guests dancing to an energising sultry set from the MVP Slim Soledad. All while the Aurix Mule quietly made its case as the shoe of the season, comfortable enough for a Paris heatwave, stylish enough for fashion week, and practical enough to survive both.
Missed the heat? You can still pick up your copy of THE NOISE ISSUE and get your hands on a pair of Aurix shoes, both available at shop.glamcult.com. Consider it a souvenir from a night where the temperature, the volume, and the outfits were all competing for first place.
