Adidas Originals x Brain Dead’s Japan Flames collection drops tomorrow
There’s a new girl in the wrestling ring and she’s wearing bows in her hair. For those who grew up on WWE and Pinterest: this drop speaks your language. Welcome to the wonderful world of Braindead x Adidas, where wrestling boots and coquette aesthetics are merged. In case you thought bows, frills, and wrestling masks had nothing in common, we welcome you to think again.
The Japan Flames silhouette pulls from Japanese wrestling culture and vintage sportswear archives, but this is Brain Dead we’re talking about. The LA-based collective, led by Kyle Ng, is known for its absurdist graphics, and yes, they really did start their own wrestling league (Brain Slam Wrestling). Safe to say they’re chaotic, and not afraid to go a bit left of centre. Brute force meets brat energy here.
So whether you’re wearing your new kicks ringside or pairing them with lace socks and a cheeky wink, this collection isn’t asking you to pick a side. It’s a friendly reminder that pretty things can throw a punch too <3
