ASICS take care of our mind, body and sneakers collection.

With ASICS, it’s Worlds Mental Health Day every day. For decades, the iconic brand has been delivering exceptional quality footwear that is the star of the show during a marathon as much as on a PFW runway (hello, Cecilie Bahnsen). The brand’s approach to creating a truly comfortable shoe without compromising looks lies in their philosophy – the one of nurturing wellbeing through movement. Last Friday, the iconic footwear brand dragged us out of our office to get Uplifted, and take a moment to tune in with ourselves – all in style, ofc.

Greeted by NXT Museum’s  larger-than-life visuals, we were immediately introduced to the hero of the evening – the reimagined GEL-1090™ v2. The fan favourite model from 2004 makes a comeback now glistening in silver and metallics, with a futuristic yet very 2000s inspired design. Signature ASICS details find home in an elegant streamline silhouette, adding a contemporary edge but always remaining a retro classic at its core. Designed by the Danish creative Freja Wewer, the new GEL-1090 is sleek, light, versatile and unbelievably comfortable – all we could ever ask for.

All attendees dressed up in identical all-white overalls and the ASICS pair, we are invited to walk through the interactive exhibition. The highlight of the evening was a stunning dance performance compiled by the Berlin-based artist Franka Marlene Foth. In sync with otherworldly audiovisual effects, the performance took us on its own journey. Energised and inspired, we were then encouraged to do the same – to celebrate our bodies and let go of the week’s stress through movement.
