“Everybody around the world knows what denim is and what denim signifies”, says master milliner, Stephen Jones in light of this iconic collaboration with G-Star RAW. “I took denim out of its comfort zone and made it what it wasn’t”; and from breaking the bounds of what we have come to expect denim to be, comes this G-Star RAW innovative headwear collection featuring five Haute Couture headpieces and two exquisite ready-to-wear limited edition hats.
Needless to say, the G-Star x Stephen Jones collection is an iconic meeting of the minds of craftsmanship and innovation. The entire capsule collection has been created in a responsible Cradle to Cradle Gold Certified® denim fabric and lies within the bounds of historical reflection and futuristic vision. From editorial moments such as the incredible circular headpiece to the ready-to-wear options, a bucket hat and baseball cap, which seamlessly tie into the rest of the work by positioning themselves within a classic streetwear landscape. Alongside the capsule collection, the pair have also created a short documentary filmed in Jones’ atelier in Convent Garden, giving us a glimpse into the genius’ work and the process behind his groundbreaking designs.
The G-Star RAW x Stephen Jones collaboration launched on the 22nd of November 2022. The two limited edition ready-to-wear headpieces will be available from the 1st of December 2022 at g-star.com.
