GLAMCULT SELECTS: LULU

Meet the line-up!

Small in stature but BIG on experimental sounds – Lulu is a beloved name in the underground music scene of Amsterdam. She studies sound from a social scientific perspective and is a resident at Garage Noord. When you delve into her mixes, she invokes a sense of melodic yearning, and always knows how to give you what you need, when you didn’t even know what it was you needed. Step into her enchanting world tonight during Glamcult Selects…and find a glimpse into her mysterious world below.

 

How are you today?
Feeling terribly hot ��. The air in the train stopped working.

How do you describe your DJ style?
It’s a spinning dish of sweet, salt, and spicy energy.

What’s your main source of inspiration?
Nature.

How does your work interact with the communities you’re in?
I am currently part of Natiforme, a collective with Derozan, Giaderza, and Nèna. They are inspiring DJs and collaborations like these encourage me to connect with new artists, audiences, music, and places.

If you could change anything about the industry what would it be?
Radio stations and radio makers deserve financial support.

Besides DJing, what do you do in your daily life?
I do research at a university.

What is your biggest accomplishment thus far?
This weekend I managed to do 1,5 pull up. ��

What is your favourite song at the moment?
RAKHI & RUBY-SOFIA – No Flowers

If you could think of your favourite club lineup what would it be?
3OK live, John T. Gast, Angelicaa & First Circle live and object blue.

What makes someone in the crowd stand out to you?
Dance moves.

What are you manifesting for the rest of 2023?
Finalizing my four-show residency on LYL radio, releasing the first Natiforme compilation, and starting a PhD.
