Trust us.
In the vastness of Amsterdamse Bos, there’s an entire sonic realm tucked right above its undergrowth: Dekmantel, the prodigious cornerstone known for its one-of-a-kind curation of electronic music, is back this summer with revitalised forces. With their signature verve and liveliness, they just announced their vital Radar Stage line-up, with 18 newcomers compared to previous years — and it’s sure digging deeper into our excitement. Between July 30th and August 3rd, be prepared for an immersion into the evocative electronic beats, as heard only within the bounds of Dekmantel.
Defining electronic music for its second decade already, Dekmantel keeps permeating the scene at length. With Jeff Mills, Four Tet, and Avalon Emerson, alongside festival debutants like Richie Hawtin or Honey Dijon, this year’s line-up has something for everyone—fast, exciting electronica that infuses the body with insatiable energy.
From one music lover to another, this Dekmantel season we have your plans covered. Here are 6 artists you absolutely should not miss on this year’s line-up:
DjRUM
The first artist that has us excited is DjRUM, Felix Manuel; the elusive DJ and producer from the UK. An underground powerhouse since the release of his singles, “Plantain / What I Was Doing When I Was Doing What I Was Doing” in 2015, DjRUM’s industrial, glitchy sound is unmistakable but relentlessly malleable as the musician presents through their new album, Under Tangled Silence. Make sure to catch DjRUM within the foliage and sun for a trip down sonic plateaus of greenery and factories of metal and grime.
mad miran
mad miran elevates any line-up they are a part of. With a huge presence in the European DJ scene, mad miran is a true and true selector. The Amsterdam native avoids labels, genres – they’re here for the mayhem, swift switches between electro, breaks, IDM, and dubstep is the madness to their mastery. If you haven’t seen mad miran mix before you are dancing with the shadows cast in Plato’s cave, it’s time to leave the dark.
Anz and Pearson sound
Words are not fit to communicate the excitement that courses through our veins in anticipation of this British b2b. Amsterdamse Bos is not ready to feel the combined aura that will be oozing from the speakers as Anz and Pearson Sound musically conversate on stage – crafting responses through transitions, selecting tracks that will bridge footwork, breaks, and garage as well as those with bass lines that you will feel deep in your gut. Do yourself a favor, and note down these two names already – you won’t want to miss history.
Batu
Experimental, atmospheric, and tense – Batu is one of the most intentional producers out there right now. With a deep understanding of sound design, and ambiance, the tracks that Batu releases are full to the brim with stories that are only available to those who can talk through emotion and sound. Language and concepts of il/literacy bend at the moments of silence that cut through the sonic atmospheres that Batu crafts. Released today, their new EP, “Question Mark,” will ensure your attendance in the crowd – brooding, sexy, and eerie, Batu never fails to arouse interest and intrigue. This set is bound to stimulate your mind as much as your body – leave your expectations at home, for this set will change your brain chemistry for good.
Simo Cell
Finally, are you ready to scream “Yes, DJ?” With the intent to break through the summer heat, the thick landscape of the forest, and stiff postures on the dancefloor, Simo Cell will oblige you to dance with the most sensual but also satirical tracks and beats. Whether it’s “Farts” blasting on the speaker or “rapids”, Simo Cell will hit you with drops that are laced with infectious dembow drum lines or high-hat compositions that will completely shift your understanding of what a DJ and producer does in the first place.
Don’t miss out on Dekmantel 2025, between July 30th and August 3rd!
