Here are the sets we won’t be missing at Lentekabinet

From syncopated bubbling and foot-thumping house, to shoulder-pulsing breakbeat, there’s a dancefloor for all

There’s something unmatched about frolicking through the divinely idyllic, water-rich and endlessly green landscapes of the blissful Het Twiske. Add quality DJ sets to the mix and you get Lentekabinet — a.k.a. an electro festival in dream world.

If we rewind a little, we let you in on a secret: on May 23-24, Glamcult TV will be closing each dance-dripping day with its strip club situation also presented by the can’t-take-your-eyes-off powerhouse Striptopia. But today, we present the acts we will definitely be checking out when we’re not at the Glamcult stage. Our set list remains a surprise — patience is a virtue — but scattered among our highlighted names, you might just find a few hints. Here’s to the tease.

And obviously, there’s something for each and every one of us, so let us give you a sneak peek before fully delving into our list. In need of some NY ballroom culture, hypnotising drum-heavy trip, and heavy high energy-techno? Then the B3B made in heaven of BASHKKA, tINI, and  PARAMIDA has got you. For all the House-nerds, the one and only,  Mother of the genre, Honey Dijon, will also be there to beautifully tire our feet (and it’s totally okay).  For a final hint: Jensen Interceptor is the ultimate genre blender, so if you’re a bass addict, you know where to head (and you might also catch him wearing one of his cute lil bags if you’re lucky enough.)

If choosing between it all sounds too agonising, get your organisation ON and master that itinerary with the schedule which JUST dropped.

Honey Dijon
With a name as sweet-leaning as Honey Dijon, we know there is some Queen Bee factor in all of this. Born and raised in the birthplace of House music — Chicago — Honey rises as the essential choice when it comes to craving the perfect amount of groove, disco and techno. Not only is she the icon that we all know her to be, but she’s the cultural matriarch we’re all looking up to, standing firmly for trans and queer rights (duh).

Ineffekt
What happens when you love (blog)house, UK techno genres, alt-pop, and all of that with some glistening vocals? Well, enter Ineffekt. The Dutch DJ and producer revels in a mix of euphoric, groove-led, synth-rich and tastefully layered sonic textures — and an exquisite time is pretty much guaranteed.

Chuckie B2B DJ Moortje
On one hand, we get Chuckie delivering a triple threat of Latin, garage, and RnB influences — dubbing it none other than Dirty Dutch. His Dutch-Surinamese roots are reflected in his sets that teem with ecstatic rhythm and steaming energy. On the other hand, the literal founder of bubbling, DJ Moortje, is brought in to infuse their set with high BPMs, catchy rhythms, and, hopefully, latinhouse (which apparently perfectly matches the speed of bubbling.)

Sef
Even though Lentekabinet focuses on electro sets, bringing in Sef for a live moment is the ultimate gift the festival can give us all. Sef is the Dutch-Moroccan rapper who’s held a steady place in the Dutch music industry for over 20 years. With incessant energy on stage, an exquisite twang of electro infused production, and great outfits we’ll be taking inspo from — Sef is simply not to be missed. With his last solo album released last year, ‘lieve monsters,’ and a follow-up to his collaborative project, ‘ IJSLAND 2,’ so consider us front row.

Surusinghe
There’s something about the right sensual mix of reggaeton, broken-beat, and heavy bass — a.k.a. the perfect set. And someone who’s extremely fit for the part is Australian-born, London-based Surusinghe, who calculates speed to the millimetre, giving us no time for a break. Are we complaining? Definitely not. Her production work stands just as firmly in her unpredictable confidence: delivering the club-ready tracks we’ve been yearning for.

P.S. You can also warm up with our interview with her.

BASHKKA B3B tINI B3B PARAMIDA
Now let us introduce this three-way Lente-affair: BASHKKA, tINI, and PARAMIDA

Following a decade of immersion in NY’s Ball culture, collaborating with and getting inspired by the Black and Brown trans women of the scene, BASHKKA now brings her relentlessly sensually acerbic sets back to the Euro-based clubs. Then bring in legendary club-capital member tINI, and we get some groovy drum-heavy sets, infused with her gleeful energy. The final binding touch lies with PARAMIDA or the one who excels in bridging the past with the present. Think iconic vinyl cuts meet contemporary hidden gems. There’s basically everything and anything from trance and high-energy techno to Italian dream house.

The B3B basically promises us a searing list of bouncing funk, drum-heavy beats, and addictive SWANA sounds. Take out your notes app, this is the set list we’ll all be saving.

Jensen Interceptor
With sounds anchored in some of the USA’s most iconic music cities — from Detroit’s electro scene and Chicago’s ghetto house to the thumping bass of Miami — Jensen Interceptor’s ability with the controller promises an ecstatically bass-heavy set. And the effort doesn’t stop there, as Jensen simply has a knack for the ultimate genre-blending, weaving in the sultriness of baile funk, footwork, and juke.
