Pairing with South Korea’s industrial big boys
Known for their inventive and innovative take on fashion, KANGHYUK just changed the game. Collabs have been the hot commodity of the 2020-21 era, but venturing out of the industry circle, KANGHYUK has teamed up with one of South Korea’s leading industrial enterprises, Hyosung, concocting clothes out of their waste materials. Now, I know we’re all gasping for summer – but there’s no harm in looking ahead – especially when your winter ski set is soon to be made exclusively from airbags. Repurposed to make hundreds of jackets, the fashion connoisseurs have reinvented ski wear, making a futuristic collecting beyond the boundaries of traditional materials.
Boldy staying within an icy blue hue, the entire collection also features barcode details – a nod to the industrial universe, alongside blue stitching and sturdy hardware. As an additional salute to the roots of the material, the Hyosung logo is also featured on many of the jackets. From leggings, ski jackets to jumpers, and cropped coats, we see a seamless collection from a uniquely cohesive family. As an extra sneak-peek, Reebok sneakers can also be spotting – a fresh take on the brand’s previous release. Overall, the collection takes the notion of collaboration to new heights – exploring outside of the traditional industry, and seeing creativity beyond the ‘creatives’.
