Looking back at PUMA’s H-street OG launch

Mokum Vintage embraces PUMA’s past and present with archival gems

Glamcult was there, and yes — we felt the vibe! The balmy evening kicked off with sun-rays that coaxed the crowd outside by the entrance, equipped with cans of cooled Kumasi drinks in the signature green we’ve come to know and love from the shoe. Indoors, the energy was just as ecstatic, especially lit up by groovy beats from DJ Romsy, Alain, and Pantonepapi, tailor-made cocktails by Amsterdam-based Groovy Spirits, sushi bites making the rounds (yes, there were veggie options), ice cold buckets filled with Vipers and Peroni’s, and people flexing their freshest fits (we spotted those H-streets everywhere).

The sneaker is all about remixing the past with the present, and what better place to do that than surrounded by archival PUMA tees, outerwear, and accessories from across the globe? The archive pieces were hand-picked for this launch and had us digging through racks all evening, discovering gem after gem.

When we were done saying hi to some friendly faces, we were stuck marvelling at the whirlwind machine and the people who dared to enter the tornado of balls inside of it. Overwhelming for most, a lucky (and talented) few exited the glass box victorious, scoring themselves a pair of PUMA’s. The whole scene had us giggling.

With a crowd that felt more like a family reunion of sneakerheads, stylists, and culture lovers, Mokum Vintage served not only as a meeting point for streetwear enthusiasts but as the perfect spot to bring the H-street OG to life.  It rings loud and clear: Reimagining the legacy of archival designs is here to stay. Overall, the community pulled up in full style, showed out, and made the evening one to remember. PS: props to the production and catering, we loved the sushi bites and especially that there were veggie options… feeling welcome is all in the details.

For those who missed it, don’t worry! You can still get your own H-Street shoes available at PUMA.COM, as well as at Ansh46, Baskets, De Bijenkorf, Calico Club, Four, Oqium, Sneaker District. For our Belgian friends, you can find the sneakers at Avenue or Ultimate.
