We’ve all seen the wave, but what about the clothes?

Louis Vuitton SS27

Pharrell teasing us with a mirage of a faux wave crescending over the runway in unbearable heat is all everyone is talking about, yet the collection itself had us arguably even more intrigued.

Pharrell is getting visibly more assured in his vocabulary, building his runway army more and more confidently with each season. Now, he looks towards Californian surf and skate culture, which has undeniably been a long-standing influence on his style. It manifests in preppy leisure reworked for a heat-addled metropolis: think digital nomads in sun-faded tees under razor-sharp tailoring with custom surfboards clutched like briefcases.

The Pharrellification especially shows in the playfulness — LV monogram motifs chaotically scattered like pebbles popping with colour, and patchworked jackets that feel lifted from teenage fantasy and reassembled with a luxury touch. It’s fun, dandy, and a very satisfying continuation of Pharrell’s LV rule.
