MANUKA HONEY releases new single: ROAD RAGE

Manuka Honey’s new single Road Rage gets us into a trance with its addictively eerie, industrial ambience. After years of mixing Latin-American and Caribbean heat with industrial doom, Malik’s finally found her villain era and it’s powered by hard trance, dembow and ballroom, and possibly a few cursed astrological transits. She calls it a “spring-loaded club weapon,” which sounds about right: one listen and you’re emotionally concussed but somehow reborn.

Her inspiration came from “the frustration I felt around liminality and blockage. The Saturnian rage that brewed with manoeuvring obstacles sitting in front of my goals (destination).”

The single leads her upcoming Road Rage EP (out November 14 via Black Acre), featuring shapeshifting Egyptian producer ABADIR and Dutch bubbling legend De Schuurman. It’s her most club-focused release yet, which in Manuka Honey terms means the dancefloor might catch fire, but at least it’ll be in rhythm.
