Melkweg has us seeing stars during ADE

Amsterdam’s iconic venue didn’t come to play

While nearly every bar, venue, restaurant, or even grocery store turns into a club this week for ADE, our tried and true Melkweg keeps it consistent, serving up some of the hottest acts on our radar. Whether you are looking for last minute tips or wishing to hit up one of Amsterdam’s  iconic venue: here is a rundown of the acts we are most excited to see under Melkweg’s starry skies.

Hitting the decks tonight (!!!) Jenson Interceptor’s label International Chrome touches down at the UP stage.  A fav of DJs and partygirls alike, International Chrome consistently puts out some of the hardest hitting club tools and bangers. Signaturely ‘genre fluid’ in practice and sound, Jenson Interceptor’s bumping electro bass tracks expertly mix elements of footwork, techno,  and baile funk (and are cosigned by the one and only Aphex Twin). Killing dancefloors and subwoofers alike, everything from jersey club bed squeaks, hissing snares, and stabbing 808s are on the table this evening.

Looking to get your hyperpop fix? PYXLS will take care of you on Thursday 23rd, presenting us with a night that is so starstudded it may just force you to call out of work come Friday morning. PC music’s legendary Danny L Harle headlines with none other on support than Amsterdam’s hype princess YoungWoman and the ethereal electronics of Willem Feltzer. It’s sweaty sonic euphoria encapsulated <3

On Friday 24th, otherworldly digitalism spawn under the strobe lights at Imanu’s De_Verte as Iglooghost and BABii take us into their grimey dub-infused universe. Bristol based artist Iglooghost’s hyperdetailed surrealist production transforms hazy club air into magically alien landscapes. A genre mutant, Iglooghost’s sound dissolves and collides into pillars of grime, experimental hiphop, IDM, and juke. On a nearby planet lives the work of BABii, where racing glitchy rumblings meet BABii’s delicate nymphlike vocals, as basslines throb and reverberate out into the surrounding distorted cosmos.

As the sun sets on Sunday 26th, our favorite partyboy Babymorocco, amps it up hyper emotional swag for one last hurrah. Dropping his revisited debut album Amour: The Jean Paul Deluxe earlier this summer, Babymorocco flexes his beefy biceps and poses alongside the underground’s most exciting experimental sweethearts, including EQ, Tailtiu, The Femcels, & iKeda. Babymorocco’s EDM is unrestrained and unapologetically so. Vocals (electro)clash and swing about surging synths, leaving you gasping for air in that ever so perfect way.
