Oscar and the Wolf unveils "Angel Face"

Into the depths of despair

Max Colombie, the creative force behind Oscar and the Wolf, is back with a new single “Angel Face”. In this stirring track, Colombir delves into the depths of despair, portraying a narrative of heartbreak and solitude. “Angel Face” immerses listers into Colombie’s personal purgatory, where he finds himself bruised and battered on the verge of despair. It’s raw, it’s vulnerable, and it’s on the top of our liked songs. Portraying a breakup against the backdrop of a desolate bar where he stands as the last man remaining, illuminated by the harsh glare of lights.

Despite the melancholic theme, Colombie infuses the song with a sense of catharsis by tapping into the euphoric rush of music. It is here where he plays around with the power of pop/indie fusion as a form of storytelling.  This latest release really marks a shift for Oscar and the Wolf, showcasing a more introspective side of Colombie’s artistry. As he navigates themes of forbidden consumption, he reveals a newfound willingness to embrace autobiographical storytelling.
