Patta x Tommy: an ode to the 90s

Streetwear that looks within

Following their first collab celebrating Black unity, Patta and Tommy Hilfiger reunite to further explore their roots, this time, looking at the history of streetwear. Honouring NYC as a melting pot for the 90s Hip Hop revolutionaries, the capsule collection exudes the spirit of the time, while also seamlessly blending the brands’ signature aesthetics. Tommy’s preppy staples are reimagined with a more athletics-leaning Patta’s cut, and the emblems of two brands organically embellish oversized tees, varsity jackets and hoodies. Of course, the timeless (and unmatched) baggy fit echoes throughout. The approach to the lookbook is very much in tune with the capsule’s vision. Tapping some of today’s hip hop loudest names – Wiki, MIKE and The Alchemist – the whole collection can be seen in an original music video set in the Big Apple, paying homage to the originators as well as celebrating the voices of today. The 12″ vinyl of the track, One More, is also a part of the drop. Overall, the collab is a bow to the golden era of hip-hop artistry and its legacy continuing to influence the culture today, all translated through a collection of autumn/winter must-haves.
