PUSSY RIOT PERFORM "PUTIN'S ASHES"

Redefining the meaning of punk within this era of political tyranny

Pussy Riot: the Russian feminist art collective championing the matriarchy through political performance, has just shared with the world a teaser for their latest work — Putin’s Ashes.  To be debuted in LA at the Deitch Gallery (on January 27th for those of you on the west coast), this piece is in many ways their ultimate fight song; standing against Vladimir Putin and his decision to invade Ukraine. The work can be understood as a second chapter to their piece that debuted last summer, in which they (quite literally) performed the burning of Putin. Pussy Riot are bold, fearless creators — redefining the meaning of punk within this era of political tyranny, and thus, when they create, we watch and when they preach their reality — we listen.

Keep your eyes peeled for January 27th, and make sure to follow Pussy Riot and watch, listen and absorb their work.
