As per usual, expect the unexpected!
With just five weeks to go ‘till The Hague is flooded with creativity and musical excellence for Rewire Festival, we’re up in arms over this year’s line-up. Because of an already star-studded list, we weren’t sure what to expect with the final release; but, as always with Rewire: expect the unexpected and get your body (and mind) ready to boogie!
Amongst a long list of must-sees, here are some names we’ve certainly got our eyes and ears on this year. First up, from the South African queer art collective FAKA, Desire Marea will present the Dutch debut of their transformative solo album, “Desire”. Rewire also brings us multidisciplinary Chinese artist, Pan Daijing, who will be experimenting with modes of storytelling and will explore opera techniques in her world premiere of the audiovisual show, ‘Playback Play’. Alongside Daijing, we also have New York-based, Lea Bertucci, a master of space activation, combining electronic music with a cheeky saxophone solo for us to revel in. We will also be treated to some familiar but ever-so-exciting and treasured DJs, such as the visceral Sybil, our favourite Mad Miran, and the Arab-meets-UK bass magician and curator Fatima Ferrari.
All of this, however, is just the beginning of the story; to check out the full line up head over to Rewire’s website and prepare to party like it’s the end of time.
