“Empty mouth
Empty plates
No surprises”
Breaking free from the deceiving confines of Scandinavian ‘hygge’, musician TEHRAN is at the forefront of a new generation of rage. Formerly known as Nadia Tehran, the artist’s debut album, DOZAKH, was a ground-breaking success. But over the past five years, TEHRAN has been crafting a new artistic identity, finding themselves in the shadowy creeks of Copenhagen’s underground. Forcefully enigmatic, the singer has the ability to channel multitudes of raw emotion and express it through their voice, as Swedish, English and Farsi unfold in screams and tender melodies accompanied by dissonant nu-metal guitars and programmed blast beats. While the lyrics are ruled by an unapologetic sincerity of their personal sphere, the visual dimension is deeply political. New album HUSQVARNA explores themes of grief, depression and addiction, transforming each into an exclamation of resistance. Each track frames its visuals within the artist’s birthplace in Jönköping, a historic site of Swedish weapon production and migrant alienation. TEHRAN is defining their path in processing past and present urges to emerge from their pain.
Coldhearted world
My eyes swirl
Coldhearted world
leaves no faith
Undead
I’m sick and tired
Undead
I’m sick and tired
Som en dröm
Ja trodde det var sant
Som en dröm
Jag trodde det var sant
