More than just rum, BACARDÍ stands for freedom and connection
The joy of surprise blooms in unexpected places and times. Naive happiness blossoms in the hearts of adults who have long stopped looking out for the fortuitous in the air of festivals, the wind that breezes by carries the smiles of thousands exhilarated by the music, freedom, and connection. Music festival season is upon us.
BACARDÍ, experts of the spontaneous, kicked off the festival season with CASA BACARDÍ at Paaspop Festival last weekend; this did not come without a proportional degree of surprise. Frenna, the singular and coveted Dutch rapper surprised the crowd with an unannounced performance to celebrate the start of his new partnership with BACARDÍ. Known and highly admired in every corner of the world, his unanticipated presence at the festival made waves in the crowd. And what else would complement the euphoric wave of awe if not BACARDÍ? The sound of rum was amplified, the ice cubs coated in the beloved BACARDÍ and Cola combination tossed around in the glasses of festival go-ers.
Meanwhile, CASA BACARDÍ has become a staple at Paaspop – the place where Latin-Caribbean rhythms and street beats collide to create the “Sound of Rum,” a space where everyone is free to move and feel, emulating the core values of the brand: freedom and connection. As Frenna meditates on his desire to “do something different – something that stands out and brings people together;” this set was a call for collective joy. A galvanising force for connection through music, emotion, and a sexy glass of rum and coke in hand. BACARDÍ’s summer takeover has only just started. In addition to the announced collaboration with Frenna, CASA BACARDÍ will be touring several festivals that have proved their significance in the mainstream music and festival scene — a tour de force of celebrating its 125th year since its founding! In true party spirit, on May 5th, BACARDÍ joins Het Amsterdams Verbond for the first time to celebrate freedom. On June 7–8, CASA BACARDÍ brings the energy to Amsterdam Open Air in a brand-new setting. Then, it’s time to toast to 20 years of Solar Weekend during the first weekend of August. And finally, BACARDÍ closes the summer with a celebration of icons at Lowlands, August 15–17 — marking 10 years of collaboration between BACARDÍ and the festival. Whatever your summer plans are, make sure not to miss out on them!
