When fashion, sport and circularity are merged
Yana van Nuffel, who shot Horsegiirl for Glamcult’s cover, is exhibiting her work in Brussels. Motion Manipulation, showing from 19 to 21 September at NOAH x BRENDA (Brussels), is a multidimensional experiment: the result of when athleticism meets sustainability and aesthetics. Built around a capsule collection by Studio Wolfs, the show repositions women in sport as more than muses. The images speak loud and clear: from a former gymnastics facility, via headpieces, real athletes, and some serious visual muscle, the shots show STRENGTH. Scenography by Kénia Raphaël adds a distinct spatial logic, echoing the environments these bodies move through, train in, and reclaim.
Most refreshingly, this isn’t a sportswear fantasy cooked up in a boardroom. The project is grounded in the athletes that inspired it. The team brought in heavy hitters (read: real athletes) like zoals Anne Zagré, Merel Maes en Raheleh Asemani. The result is an ode to women who actually run, jump, fight, and do it with grace, grit, and beauty.
