HARDSTONE: A Don Toliver brand powered by GUESS JEANS

On the 2nd of May the R&B singer Don Toliver made his bold entry into fashion with his clothing brand, titled HARDSTONE, engineered by GUESS. Music has been infused into the collaboration between Don Toliver and GUESS, and the collection pushes disciplinary boundaries that raise the bar of expectations for textile pieces imbued with a strain of sound.

HARDSTONE is a continued narrative of Don Toliver’s meticulous identity and was made in close collaboration with Nicolai Marciano (GUESS JEANS). The high-end capsule  collection is an extension of Toliver’s artistic universe and GUESS JEANS’ craftsmanship, bringing his unique style and energy to life with a strong focus on denim. HARDSTONE is the recalibration of an aesthetic movement previously sonically galvanized by Toliver. The entire collection is suffused with a 90s aesthetic, with motorcycle graphics on T-shirts, bold pins, and caps. The burgundy thread of Don Toliver’s music: hot, vulnerable, and honest, has always paralleled his visual identity as seen through his performances, music videos, and overall aesthetic. Toliver additionally hosted a pop-up on the 1st of May in celebration of the launch of the brand in Los Angeles: his custom HARDSTONE motorcycle handcrafted by Powerplant and GUESS was on display in the West Hollywood window, alongside the inaugural collection. The initial celebrations were followed by an exclusive performance by the artist in a secret location, propelling the embedded intrigue that ontologically surrounds those such as Toliver himself: mysterious but determined and ambitious.

The collection is available for purchase on the HARDSTONE website powered by GUESS. Take a look at the collection that left us in a daze, as seen on Glamcult’s favourite Kali Uchis
