Acne Studios x Angelo Plessas

Acne Studios has a knack for artistic collaborations, and their newest capsule collection is no exception. The artist in question this time is Angelo Plessas, a self-proclaimed Technohshaman who melds the powers of the past and future to create healing art for the present. Timberland introduces the next generation boat

Very few brands can proclaim heritage quite like Timberland. The brand, beginning its story back in 1952, all started with Nathan Swartz and the Abington Shoe Company. Later transitioning into Timberland in 1973 with the OG boot, yep, you guessed it... the "timberland", it was around this time (1978), the iconic 3-eye lug handsewn boat shoe was also crafted. This momentous beginning is not lost on the Timberland-team of 2022 and has today been re-imagined to fit the spring/summer mindset.

Balenciaga fall ‘22 exemplifies the evocative mix of political commentary and poetic showmanship, culturally necessary this season. The runway; an enclosed space mimicking that of a snowglobe, showcases the enclosed models walking against the artificial snow blowing their way. Someone shook the globe, and this apocalyptic setting (though reminiscent of their Fall 2020) is for Demna, was originally aimed to show us a time where the earth becomes so warm that snow can only be experienced through simulation.

Pierpaolo Picciolo knows this and came to Paris fashion week with an agenda - one to stun the crowd and perpetuate the monochromatic maze 2022 is establishing. All block colours, this season for Valentino is pink and black only, vivid fuchsia backdrops and all. Providing a method to this (much loved) madness, Picciolo explains the thought process: total and complete concentration on the clothing. A moment of silence for the Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2022 “Daybreak” collection, showcasing the late Virgil Abloh’s designs. While we already had two runway shows left in his legacy, it's no surprise - and highly appreciated - that the Maison is dedicating this collection to canonizing his work. The Firminy Vert complex built by Abloh’s hero Le Corbusier acts as the backdrop to the lookbook. This October the beloved Hyéres festival is returning for its 37th iteration. For those who don’t know, the International Festival of Fashion and Photography Hyéres is, well, a fashion and photography festival in Hyéres, France. Its founder, Jean-Pierre Blanc, started the festival to build a space that celebrates young creatives. Hyéres does just that, fostering raw artistry by rewarding finalists for creating for the simple sake of creating.
